Questions and Answers
Q: I bought one of your Basil plants the other day and was wondering if I
could replant it in my garden?
A: No, the plant can not be replanted. We have taken off most of its
roots which would have turn black and sour in the bottom of the bag.
Q: What is the best way to keep my Basil?
A: Put some water in a glass so that it covers the root ball and keep it
in a shaded corner of your kitchen counter. It is like a cut flower, the
water helps it stay fresher for a number of days longer. As a rule,
refrigeration deteriorates basil faster then room temperature. Perfect
temperature for Basil is 50 - 55 degrees F.
Q: If I should keep my Basil in water on the counter, should I keep my
Watercress or Arugula that way also?
A: Watercress and Arugula can also be kept in water on the counter but it
doesn't mind it in the refrigerator so keeping it in the bag with the water
in the bottom in the refrigerator is the recommended way of storage.
